Harvest in Burgundy has just ended but it already confirmed: 2017 will be a fine vintage, not only for the wines but also for the whole Maison Labouré-Roi. In addition to the Best Dry White Wine Trophy obtained by our Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru Les Baudines, to the nice awards and distinctions collected by our wines in the last past months, there is a reward particularly appreciated by our team : the selection of our wines by airlines companies for on-board service.
In fact, offering to airlines passengers all over the world a glass of French Terroir (even more from Burgundy!), is already taking part to the pleasure of travelling. And this is in this spirit that airlines pay indeed particular attention to the wines appearing on their menu cards, selecting them through blind tastings carried by wine masters and restaurant professionals.
For Labouré-Roi it has always been a great challenge to submit our wines to those experts’ palates… and a real happiness to see our selected wines then served on-board of prestigious flights. Just realize: the Labouré-Roi wines where once served aboard the Concorde!
Even today some of our wines travel in the air, such as our Mâcon-Chardonnay or our Rosé Sparkling served in Business Class respectively on Asiana and Singapore Airlines flights. Not forgetting our white Santenay Premier Cru 2015 that has recently been selected by Lufthansa for First Class on-board service.
A “First Class” tradition for sure, but Labouré-Roi also stand for accessibility and discovery offering to wine lovers all around the world the opportunity to discover French wines, as proved by our Chardonnay Vin de France 2016 which will soon be served in 187 ml quarter bottles on United Airlines Economy Class flights.
