Labouré-Roi’s quality assurance; providing the most enjoyable wine experience in accordance with the highest standards of quality!
Making wine is certainly unlike any other activity! The Maison Labouré-Roi, that produces fine wines from Burgundy since 1832 in its cellars in Nuits-Saint-Georges, aims to offer each year, to all amateurs of great wines throughout the world, wines that adequately express the richness of the famous climats of Burgundy and their legendary appellations; Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, Volnay, Pommard, and so many others.
This dedication to please your palate is the result of our strong will to satisfy your demand for tasting the best Burgundy wines, as well as those from other wine producing regions, in the best possible conditions.
In order for your gustatory experience to be complete, Labouré-Roi’s management team has put in place a constantly evolving quality assurance process, that includes, amongst other things; the respect of individual terroirs and our environment, respect of our winemaking expertise – which is continually progressing thanks to our oenologist, Brigitte Putzu – but also setting up internal and external verification procedures allowing for international norms certifications to be applied.
Pierre Virey, our Quality, Security, and Environment manager is responsible for the implementation of this quality assurance process within Labouré-Roi: “At each stage of our viticultural production, we have set up quality control processes, with specific measuring, follow-up, and traceability tools. Everything is internally controlled. From the wine traders’supply, and even before that, in the vines that Brigitte Putzu and her team visit regularly in order to gather data and verify the development and maturity of grapes, to the various steps of vinification, ageing, bottling, etc… We do this with the aim of improving our processes each passing year. Our job is to guarantee the perfect quality of our wines for our clients, in accordance with the highest standards. The entire Labouré-Roi team is committed to this approach.”
To these strict internal controls, are added various external audits by independent organizations, which allowed Labouré-Roi to renew its 2015 IFS Food (International Featured Standard) version 6, the highest level (98,34%) and our BRC Food certification (British Retail Consortium), that got upgraded from a level B to a level A. What’s more, our work site is classified ICPE for the protection of the environment and our wine preparation and bottling processes are certified for organic wines with the appropriate traceability.
This quality assurance approach and its international certifications are a guarantee for our clients they can taste and enjoy all the aromas and flavors conveyed in our wines in total confidence.
